I spent a few minutes trying to see if it would hold water but decided the water flow was the problem.
I sat on the bank and pumped from behind the dam and filled my two bottles for my trip back to Hot Springs.
The trail markers were missing and a good doer used a marker to help us non-locals around. This is the trail up to the top of Rich Mountain and the tower.
I climbed up the tower enough to see the haze really didn't give a good view that day. Oh well, perhaps next year.
This is a good water source south of Rich Mountain. But it was not flowing through the pipe. There was a slow flow out of the bank but not fast enough to fill the reservoir. The water leaked under the plank and through the hole through which the pipe was set.
